The Department of Classics offers a Latin placement exam for entering students during each of the summer orientation sessions; the exam will also be offered on Monday, August 22nd, 2016, 8AM in New Cabell Hall 287. Students need not pre-register to take the exam. The exam is not administered at any other times.
The Department, following University guidelines, awards 3-6 units of credit at the 3000 level to students who score a 4 or a 5 on the Latin AP exam(s). For IB students, a score of 5, 6, or 7 earns 3 credits for Latin 2020. An SAT II Test score of >650 means your Foreign Language Requirement is fulfilled.
